Challenge: outdated equipment, new requirements
Gasum’s biogas plants occasionally contain hazardous and explosive gases. The personal gas detectors in use had reached the end of their service life and lacked the latest safety features. There was a need for a solution that would enable modern gas detection, improve lone worker safety and provide data for further analysis.
Solution: flexible and versatile collaboration
Gasum reviewed several alternatives and selected the Blackline Safety G7C solution provided by Detector Oy. The device met strict requirements: it combines multi-gas detection, lone worker safety features, and real-time data transmission and alarm handling. Calibration and maintenance can be performed on-site without sending the devices away, saving time and ensuring continuous availability.
In addition, the collected data is stored in the Live portal, where alarms, exposures, and gas concentrations can be monitored even at the individual level. The solution is also integrated with Securitas’s alarm center, which enhances safety especially during on-call shifts and holidays.
